Kalkion will celebrate its 3rd anniversary on March 25th. We are entering the third year of our establishment by broadening our reach.
Kalkion is now expanding beyond science-fiction and fantasy. Kalkion is turning into a complete 'entertainment' and political magazine. From now onwards we will be publishing mainstream news, political analysis, general fiction, poetry and much more. We invite writers, poets and bloggers to send us their articles. You know where to send it.
That doesn't mean we are stopping science-fiction. No. I think we are already living in the science-fiction age. What can we think beyond that? How should science-fiction evolve? I think now science-fiction writers can focus on areas like how evil empires will use the data gathered by companies like Facebook, how Apple's iTunes and iPads will enslave those who blindly use them without caring for how much control they are giving to Apple.
I think it's time to go beyond the limited scope of science fiction and we need to write about clear and present dangers. Today's science-fiction needs to deal with issues like copyrights where mega-corporations are conspiring with the governments to take control of the culture. There are so many such topics to write about. So, let's celebrate the 3 years of Kalkion with this new flavour.
