Work for Kalkion!

Kalkion is inviting passionate and dedicated people to join its staff! If you are interested in becoming part of Kalkion, please read below.

Kalkion is not a non-profit magazine. However, being a new venture we are not making any profit; we are still working on a revenue generation model. Thus, all of our staff members work on a volunteer basis; no one on our staff is paid. We all work for Kalkion due to our commitment and passion for science fiction and fantasy. The only reason we work with Kalkion is because we love the genre. So, if you also love science fiction, fantasy or horror, come and join us!

If you are willing to apply for a position at Kalkion, please ensure that you can commit yourself for at least 6 months. Copy Editor: We do have an in-house copy-editor, but given the volume of work, extra hands are always welcome. If you have an eye for grammar and you can understand the writing style of people of various nationalities, you are fit for the job. If you have experience in copy-editing that would be a bonus.

Fiction Editor: We are looking for additional editors who can take care of the fiction department. The responsibilities will include regular communication with current contributors of Kalkion to encourage more submissions. You will also be responsible for finding new talent and creating a talent pool for Kalkion. Some of The best places to look for fiction writers are universities where students aspire to become writers. Many students try their hands at science fiction, but their creations either sit idle in their hard drive or they fear rejection. We have to discover those gems. You will be responsible to formulate strategies to increase fiction contributions.

Article Editor: The responsibilities will be the same as that of the Fiction Editor, except for that your focus area will be article submissions. You may also be required to submit your own articles on a regular basis.

Art Editor: The responsibilities of the Art Editor will be to choose the right artwork for the "to-be-published-stories". If you are an artists yourself, that would be a bonus. Your responsibilities will include inviting artists to submit their art work to Kalkion. A good networking with artists is must for this position.

Community Manager: This position requires good communication skills to promote and market Kalkion in the writing and artistic community. You will be required to join various groups and social networking sites to ensure strong presence of Kalkion.

News Editor: You must have an eye for news angle. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure daily news updates on Kalkion. You will also be required to create a team of volunteers who can submit news on the lines of Digg or Slashdot. You will also be responsible for conducting interviews of writers, scientists and other famous personalities for Kalkion.
