There's a new app, Mojo Masks, that lets users add digital masks and facial effects to their face, take a photo or video and share it.
There are a wide variety of masks and effects to choose from, including monsters, animals, face paint, glowing eyes and tattoos and it looks fairly realistic, a step up from the cartoonish Google Effects you can play with when video chatting. Though, to be fair to Google Effects, they are live, whereas Mojo Masks is record only.
It works by tracking in real-time the user’s every facial expression and movement resulting in masks that fir perfectly the contours and bumps on your face. The free app comes with five custom facial effects - Dia de Muertos, clown, tiger, white-out eyes and vampire. That is how far you'll get before having to cough up some money for extra faces.
At the moment it's only available for iPhone and iPad at the App Store.
