India's Annual Science Fiction Event - 2009
The Annual science fiction event is returning. Last year, the event was organised in Varanasi, one of the oldest cities of the world in the North India. Making it a national event, this year the event is being organised at Aurangabad.
This year Indian Association of Science Fiction Studies(IASFS), Vellore, Saraswati Bhuvan Education Society(SBES), Aurangabad, Maharastra and Vigyan Prasar New Delhi have all come together to host the conference in Aurangabad. The event’s focus is on Science Fiction in Indian Literature and slated to be held on 14-15th November 2009.
Science fiction writers from all over India, Critics and reviewers of Indian and world science fiction, Research scholars, Scientists, Enthusiastic students pursuing Studies in science fiction and eager to learn the rudiments of science fiction will all be part of the deliberations that are to unfold this year. Participation is by invitation.
Like Varanasi, the last year’s host, Aurangabad is also a tourist destination with ancient sculptures of rediscovered Ajanta and Ellora caves-world heritage sites – a wonderful place to play host to the event.
